A few more details about the closures announcement for Java 7 surfaced today. According to Stephen Colebourne's blog, Mark Reinhold said that JDK 7 closures won't have control-invocation statements as a goal and it won't include non-local returns. Reinhold also indicated that access to non-final variables was unlikely.

Microsoft released version 4.0 of its .Net Micro framework under the Apache 2.0 licence. That's right, the .Net Micro development framework is now open source. The TCP/IP stack and cryptography stack are still closed, however, because a third-party owns the software. The .Net Micro framework is a development and execution environment for small devices.

A U.S. District Court judge ruled that Psystar's Mac clones infringe on Apple's copyrights. Psystar made the case that it could run the Mac OS X on non-Apple machines. Apparently, Psystar didn't read the Mac OS X end user license agreement, which states that the Mac OS may only be installed on Apple computers.

Google has until the end of the week to revise its book deal with the Authors Guild and the Association of American publishers.
